I bought this paint, and the grey primer paint to paint a wooden door that had yucky mahogany varnish on.. the door had been on my in-laws house for 30 years and was in good condition (just hated the colour varnish).I stripped and sanded the varnish off, used the weathershield primer/undercoat, and the applied 2 Coates or paint.. it takes FOREVER to dry, and sadly, within the first winter (painted in summer) several of the joints expanded... we couldn’t open or close the door properly.. I had also used the same paint on the brand new stable door at the back, which cost £350 and the exact same thing happened to the new door too.. I was very disappointed to say the least.. the guy at the door shop did pre warn me not to use satin paint... I ignored his advice.. big mistake!

Astounding paint.

This paint is the best I have ever used! The colour is as described, which is always a bonus, but the ease with which this covers, the flawless finish which leaves no evidence that it has been applied by brush.... its invisible blending and its reasonable touch dry time, all make it a superb paint. I've never used Sandtex before, but I'm a convert. I reckon even the worst painter in the world couldn't fail to do a professional job with this. Someone reviewed this on another site, among loads and loads of rave reviews from others.Gave 1 star and called it the worst paint ever. All I can suggest is that that person was applying the paint without having mixed it, onto maybe wood that was warm in full sun, or, was unfortunate to have received a tin that should have failed quality control. In reality you cannot get better paint than this.

Lovely paint

I painted the outside woodwork of the house this summer and found this paint exceptionally good.
It covers really well and has a nice creamy consistency that is easy to spread and doesn’t drip or run.
Really nice colour which actually does dry to the colour shown on the tin.

Would recommend!!

When I first put the paint on my front door it looked really dark! However it dried lighter and looks fab! Only needed one coat! Really nice shiny colour
