Frustrated user - 4 months ago

Went back to a mitre box as it’s impossible to hold the scotia strip and cut at the same time….

Do not buy if you value your sanity

Cuts through the scotia trim like butter. So easy to use although it doesn't come with very clear instructions, the idea is to butt the trim right up to the cutting blade and cut at the degree you want it to be cut. Test out a few times on a smaller cut until you get the hang of it and then it makes sense how to be done.
Honestly couldn't wait to complete another room of flooring for the simple, yet sad, excitement I got from using this tool, showed it to my builder who thought it was going to be a load of rubbish but he soon went out and bought one himself, no more using the mitre saw for him.

Brought to try it but not sharp enough to cut beading as it rips the paper finish on beading

Ok but not for scotia trim as advertised

Recommended by sales assistant when buying Scotia trims. Sharp and cuts through the MDF easily but doesn't work as promised.
Perfect for flat cuts, so if for instance cutting for a picture frame the 45 degree cuts are perfect. Problem arises when cutting the trims. To achieve correct angle you need to hold the edging as it's fitted (against floor and skirting) which is near impossible. As blade starts the cut the trim moves and therefore the cut and angle are not accurate. Gone back to manual mitre box & saw!
Picture was I think my fifth and best attempt!
